Old players values in new money
After reading the article on Allardyce being of the generation that missed out on the big money in football and watching Zaza put in a shift in the mode of Lee Chapman it got me thinking about modern day average players and the sums being spent on them compared to players of old...

So name the player, give an comparison to today's players and then give a value-

I'll start

Champman - Zaza - £20m

Is this supposed to be a dig at Chapman? Very strange considering he had a very good domestic career.

If Bolasie is £25m then Trevor SInclair would be easily that.

I thought Chapman had domestic problems with flash a frenchman.

Tony Cottee at his peak could possibly go for upward of 50 million these days.

Chapman did well for us. Not sure why the OP is having a dig at him.

There's a long list of strikers who have worn our colours but should have been sitting in the stands with us instead.

Chapman wasn't one of them.

It's not a dig at chapman or zaza - on current showing I see them as being similar players. How much would he be worth today? If Zaza is 20m then Chapman 20m

It was just a post to bring up some of the old names and put a price on them in today's money.

Di Canio would be outrageously expensive.

Chapman scored v Notts County I think, was getting really bad stick at the time and his celebration reflected that.

I don't think he would though. His talent was never in question, just the shit that went with it. Thankfully 'Arry was perfect for him.

B6NY - he gave what I always felt was a sarcastic clap to the crowd. Felt sorry for him really.
